Bring the Noise...

Yes indeed, Spank is hiring. No pay to speak of... but the hours are light and the work's rewarding as can be...

Amigo Tom has moved on to new adventures and as such we're left with a bit of a hole in the lineup.

So if you're in the Seattle/Eastside area, play bass (well), like what you hear to the right, and want to pursue your rock-and-roll fantasies once a week or so send us an email and let's talk.

Grazie!

Thanks to everyone who came to the gig at the Central on wednesday. We had a blast! And thanks to the Central for having us - once again you made us feel at home and treated us right.

And thanks to the kinda drunk sorta idiot-ish dancing woman - you made a portion of the evening even more entertaining than it woulda been otherwise.

Podcasts playing our stuff!

I was just checking out our listing at the podsafe music network, and was happy to discover that a couple of podcasts have played our stuff!

Very cool.

Please check out BandTrax who play Trance, and have a really nice intro from us starting at 17:30 into the September 28th show, and Gamechat Live who play Silver Bullet. We're on the Gamechat's October 14th show, but I haven't heard it yet as I'm getting timeouts from their host, archive.org...

End Of An Era

So last night was most likely our last night practicing at our weekly honing-the-craft type haunt of the last nine months or so - Premier Soundworks.

Paul the owner and all-around swell fella is officially shutting his doors as of the 15th of June. As its a full recording studio (where we recorded "Snapshot") as well as rehearsal spaces there's a lot of demolition stuff that needs to be done and it looks like its gonna start next Tuesday.

Which blows I would opine. We've had an awesome time practicing and recording there. And I think we've grown so much as a band there that I can't help but feel disappointed that its all comin' to an end.

Having said that, I'm a big believer in the whole "With change comes opportunity" philosophy. For one - Paul was in a pretty messed up lease situation with a bunch of yahoo co-tennants and a hoser landlord from what I've been able to tell. He's now going to be able to open a recording-only studio and have more time to tour/record with his band Slender Means. And... uh... for two - we've now got brand new adventures to embark on. Dunno exactly what our future practicing situation will be but I'm confident that it'll all work out.

So good luck to Paul. And to Slender Means as well - they're a fine group o' fellas. Their new album is coming out mid July. Go get one - I'm gonna.

And hell - while yer at it why not pick up a copy of the debut from yer pals in Spank? That'd be "Snapshot". Send us an email to info@spank-band.com and we'll get you your own personal copy. Soon we'll have an order form up here to make it even easier to jump on the Spank-wagon.

A Fine Night

Thanks to everyone who made it out for the show last night!!!...

We had a fine time spreading a little Wednesday night cheer... We made some new friends... and saw some folks that we hadn't seen in way too long... I hope everyone that came had as much fun as we did...

And many thanks to The Central and Eric, Jen, and Dianne for making us feel welcome and treating us right...

Release Party

So the 6 song CD-EP is finished... "Snapshot" sounds and looks pretty great in my admittedly biased opinion... I think we achieved what we intended...

To celebrate we're gonna have a lil' release party... at the Central Club in downtown Kirkland on Weds. May 18th... should be a hoot... great sound system, great folks, and a fine philosophy when it comes to fixin' drinks...
